From its small beginnings in 1984 as a small Bible study group meeting in the home Pastor Ray McCollum, Bethel moved to a community room in a bank, then to a small building in South Nashville and then to our main campus here in Brentwood in 1988. |

In 1993 Pastor Rice Broocks and his family moved to Nashville taking over as Senior Pastor in January 2000. One of Pastor Rice’s first decisions was to invite Pastor Tim Johnson and his family to move from Washington DC to Brentwood to join the pastoral staff – and a new chapter of rapid growth and expansion was opened for Bethel.

In the last few years, Bethel has grown in many and diverse ways, with more people being reached and a greater impact being achieved. The Brentwood campus now has three services each week. |

To further fulfill our vision and goal of “Reaching a City to Touch the World” we have raised up leadership teams and planted new satellite services and congregations in the greater Nashville area. Pastor Mike Cantrell is leading Bethel @ Clarksville; Pastor Ron David Moore is leading Bethel @ Murfreesboro; Pastor Rafe Young is leading Bethel @ Franklin, with Pastor Rice Broocks leading Bethel @ Brentwood, and overseeing all the congregations as the Senior Minister.

Bethel has played a significant role in establishing and supporting other church congregations in cities in the USA and around the world. Perhaps the best known of our initiatives happened in the wake of 9/11, when for almost a year Pastor Rice Broocks and Pastor Tim Johnson flew each Sunday to New York city to build a congregation in the Lamb’s Theater right off Time Square.

Our church plant in Orlando, Florida continues to thrive under the leadership of Pastor Tim Johnson.

| Bethel is also reaching out to the Nashville community through the Youth Life Learning Centers, an after school program for inner city children, with five locations in both East and West Nashville. |

Internationally, Pastor Ken Dew (a former Associate Pastor of Bethel) was released to plant a church in Auckland, New Zealand in 2002 and this has since become a regional church planting center. |
