

Coming Home

After three months in Israel , we are coming home to Nashville next week. This has been one of the most significant times we have ever had as a family in terms of growth and learning as well as ministry opportunities. We hope these lessons will help us communicate and impart greater strength and wisdom to God’s people in Nashville and beyond in the new year of 2009.
Though 2008, especially the last few months have been unsettling for so many people, it has caused us all to look to God in a greater way. In the end, that means it’s all working together for our good as Romans 8 promises.
I have been reminded of one of my favorite expressions, “Tough Times Never Last, but Tough People Do.” That is one of the biggest lessons you will take away from living here in Jerusalem. The Jewish people have endured so much and continue to be resilient in the face of constant threats on a daily basis.
We must not grow faint, but tap into the strength and faith that come from our Lord and our heritage as believers. Paul the apostle wrote, “I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do everything through Him who gives me strength.” (Philippians 4:12-13)
We appreciate all the prayers for us during this time and look forward to seeing our friends and Church family face to face. We ask that you continue to pray for Jerusalem and that you will make it a goal to visit here sometime in the future.
