President Obama will need our prayers

Now that the election is over, we as believers are faced with a clear Biblical charge to pray for our new leader. If God governs in the affairs of men and raises one up and puts down another, we must recognize this and now pray that righteous decisions be made and that any voices of evil or compromise would lose their influence.
Over the past season, the greatest crisis has not been in the area most would consider important. Exit polls showed by far the economy was on people’s minds followed by terrorism etc. No mention of one of the greatest threats to our way of life: the lack of prayer. These prayers must come from hearts that are broken and contrite over the sins of our own lives first, then our nation's.
We also need to pray that the Church rises up and begins to preach the Gospel to a young generation that is reportedly 4% Bible-believing. We are instructed to pray for all in authority that we may live quiet peaceable lives in all godliness because God wants all to be saved and come to the knowledge of the Truth. As long as we can still pray and still preach the Gospel, America has a chance to be changed.
Abortion was legalized in 1973 in America. We have made it the litmus test and number one political issue as Christians. After 45 years, we must ask ourselves is there another strategy that can turn the tide and save these innocent lives? History has proven this fact : a massive spiritual revival would overwhelm a majority of the social evils that we have only tried to vote away.
A massive revival is not some mystical hope, but a result of massive prayer and massive preaching of the Word of God, by massive amounts of God’s people, rather than a few spiritual superstars. We as Christians have been talking about this kind of a move of God coming, and that’s how they happen.
Remember, when we pray for change, God usually starts with the one doing the praying.
