Our First Conference in Egypt

This past week I participated in our first Egyptian conference outside of Alexandria. Over 100 people attended this event which was held for Pastors and their staff. Our goal was to encourage and equip these precious saints that are working in a difficult part of the world.
My friend and co-worker Shaddy Soliman was a gracious host and an excellent translator as well. The theme of the conference was the call to discipleship. The final command of Jesus to “make disciples” needs to be understood and embraced.
The Purple Book has been translated into Arabic and was introduced to the people as a tool to help them preach Christ and lay strong foundations. We are planning a follow conference in January and are printing 10,000 Purple Books to distribute in Egypt and the Middle East.
We also got to visit the Pyramids which you see pictured. It is the perfect illustration of how long things can last that have a solid foundation! God is moving in the Arab world and is revealing Himself in many ways. It is a privilege to present the Gospel of Jesus Christ to these people and see them come to faith. Without a doubt, the Gospel is the power of God for salvation for them and the only power that can heal the Middle East.
In the photo section on my Multiply site you will see pictures of a young man named Mina and his Dad. We met Mina while he was visiting a relative from Egypt in Nashville. Being a "friend to foreigner" (being hospitable) is not only a command to us as believers, but it is a very practical way to see the Kingdom of God expand into other nations. He is back in Cairo and brought his Dad, who is a judge in Egypt to meet me. They view me as family because of our friendship formed in America.
