Please Join Me in Prayer on My Journey to Nigeria
Posted by Rice on Aug 11, '08 5:46 AM
I wanted to ask my friends on Multiply as well as the members of Bethel to join with me in prayer as we go to Lagos, Nigeria this week for the Every Nation West Africa Conference. We will be hosted by two very special people, Pastor Sam and Grace Aiyedogbon, who lead the Chapel of Glory in Lagos. (The picture is not of Sam, but the Chinaka's from Illinois and Bethel's own Hinny from Nigeria)
It has been almost four years since our first trip to Nigeria and we are anxious to go and reconnect with a magnificent people in a very strategic nation. This conference will be focusing on the African people not only reaching their continent, but going forth as missionaries to the world. In the past season, African leaders have built some of the largest and most effective Churches in Europe as well as in many other parts of the world.
I will do my best to keep you posted over the next week on the events of the conference through this blog and hopefully some nice pictures. I am pleased to carry with me all the love our Church in Nashville has for the African continent, especially Nigeria. ( I was actually honored by our local Nigerian community an given honorary status as a rare white Nigerian!)
Thank you for praying for Michael Swain, Pastor Wolfi from our London Church and me as we desperately want to be a blessing to this great nation.
