Gary V. hits Nashville like a typhoon
Posted by Rice on May 27, '07 11:22 PM Of all the exciting things that have taken place at our church it would be hard to top what happened tonight. Gary Valenciano and his band performed to possibly the largest gathering of Filipinos in Tennessee history.

For over 2 1/2 hours he shared his life and faith with us and poured out a mega-dose of "pure energy". Gary's presentation was an excellent blend of inspirational and pop music that was powerful without being pushy. I brought some American friends to the concert and tried to prepare them for the hysteria that would be seen as Gary sung his songs and danced.
I think of all the things that were impacting about the evening, the one that is glaring is the relationship and camaraderie that was demonstrated between him and his son, Gabriel. They danced together and interacted with such a joy and freedom that would provoke any father to go home and reconnect with his sons.Without a doubt, hundreds of lives were touched tonight.
Our hope is that God will continue to bring our church into a greater sensitivity in the area of reaching out to the nations that are right on our doorstep here in America. Our thanks go out to Jonathan and Joann CamCam and the "Festival of the Nations" ministry that is rapidly becoming one of the most effective outreaches of our church. I hope to have some more pictures from the concert shortly and some other comments about this event in the days to come.
